Job Description

  • Develop and implement a sales strategy that will drive sales in the KZN Region.
  • Responsible for developing and achieving short and long term goals within the sales division.
  • Report to the Vice President Sales on customers, market trends, activities of the opposition and new opportunities for our business in the region.
  • Leverage key customer relationships in the industry.
  • Develop and build key customer relationships within targeted segments
  • Co-ordinate across segments and ensure adequate resource allocation across the segments
  • Train, develop and coach sales associates and effectively manage performance through the Rich’s Performance Management System. Continuously building an effective sales workforce.
  • Provide constant support to all Sales Associates by regular field visits.
  • Ensure stock-levels are within authorized parameters.
  • Ensure update of stock by regular rotation: "first-in-first-out" principle.
  • Update listed products of customers to ensure the correctness of features, ranges and prices.
  • Organize training sessions for new customers with regards to product handling, merchandising techniques and product innovation.
  • Assist with Trade Shows, in the region.
  • Ensure the physical layout of the Warehouse, storage, stacking and packaging of Rich’s products are according to standards set to prevent goods damage of any nature.
  • Prepare and revise sales budgets in conjunction with the Vice President Sales and operate within the approved operating budget.
  • Assist the Debtors Department in collection of outstanding payments by customers.
  • To implement and uphold the Performance Management System.

    Education and Experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Food Industry, preferably in Bakery/Deli Channel or Frozen Foods.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business. An MBA would be advantageous
  • Demonstrate successful relationships with key Customers resulting in profitable opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven track record in managing large teams
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
  • Solid understanding of Customer centricity.
